New in Designer: Google Health integration is live, and Designer has some new features to get your projects launched

Connect your Fitbit participants to Google Health by September 30

Google plans to retire the existing Fitbit API by September 30, and Fitbit device data will only be accessible via Google Health after this date. Google Health data collection is already live in your production projects collecting Fitbit data, so here’s what to do before then:

Create a segment of participants who have Fitbit connected, but not Google Health, and ask them to connect to Google Health within MyDataHelps™.

Update your Fitbit-based schedules & segments to include Google Health.

Go to your Export Settings and enable Google Health exports.

Quickly make broad updates to your survey

Open any survey and describe the change: “Add a step that collects height and weight and calculates BMI.” “Replace this phrase with a new phrase.” “Split these form items into their own question steps.” Review the changes in the survey editor before you save.

Export survey steps as phone screenshots, ready to share

Export screenshots of all steps in your survey for easy addition to a slide deck or for inclusion in an IRB submission. Select a device like iPhone 16 or Samsung Galaxy S24 to see how your survey looks on that device.

  • Invite your participants from one project to participate in another. Use the Add to Project segment action to add participants in a segment into a related project.
  • Set custom fields with expressions. Schedule and segment actions now take common expression language expressions.
  • Project Quickstart now ends with a report. Review what Project Quickstart built, the assumptions it made, and the open questions about your protocol.
  • Drag form items between survey steps in the survey builder.
